Trikids Clinic and Sprint Race at UPNM

On the 5th and 6th of April 2008 The Yellow Bicycle , Universiti Petahanan Nasional Malaysia and with the help of coaches from ITU (International Triathlon Union) the first ever Trikids Clinic and children's was held.

A total of 18 children and teenagers participated some for the fun of it and a few with serious plans in triathlon. A few participants especially from the Anakair swim club in Shah Alam came immpressed us all. Held in the campus grounds of the UPNM which is located in the army camp in Sg. Besi, Kuala Lumpur which might soon become the main training ground for Junior Triathletes.

Although small and a hurried affair, it would be considered a success. We have high hopes for the future and the second camp is being planned.

The 12 to 15 Years old getting Transition tips from Coach Stephanie Chok. The 12 to 15 now geting the cycle leg instructions
Stephanie With one of the participants bikes during a break from the classes. The below 10's at one of the classes. However for this age group, fun was the most important aspect to their classes.
The 12s to 15s getting swim instructions with Coach Azhar. The below 10's about to go for a short bike ride. Norizan from Yellow Bicycle was there to help out the kids.
The kids were well protected and on Sundays the campus is almost deserted. The Participants of the Clinic.

The A'Formosa Triathlon 2007

The Annual A'Formosa International Triathlon was held during April 2007. Again I did the sprint event( swim 400m, cycle 18km and run 2km) This time I was better prepared. Managed to cut almost 15 mins off my 2005 time!! Unfoutunatly there were less participants then previously. National triathele Kimberly Yap ( gold medal winner of the Manila SEA Games) was there and she won easily. Yellow Bicycle opened a small stall to provide technical assistance to the triathletes. We might make a regular apperence at triathlons closer to Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the photos...

Yellow Bicycle should be helping out at the first ever all women's triathlon at the Malaysian Women's sports festival. Not to sure what Uncle Chan of Triathlon Malaysia wants me to do.. It's going to be held at Putrajaya on the 6th of June. Be there!!

   Keep riding...
